Hauora Grant
Cataracts
Whainga / Purpose
The purpose of our Ngāti Mākino Hauora Grants is to help improve the hauora and well being of all Ngāti Mākino uri.
Treating cataracts is important because they are a leading cause of preventable, age-related vision loss, affecting many people. Cataracts are a progressive clouding of the eye's lens that eventually leads to blindness if left untreated. Surgery is necessary to restore vision, and improve quality of life. Applying for this grant gives our iwi members $500.00 toward Cataract surgery.
Tiakina ōu koutou karu kē atu, kei kāpō haere.
